Theatre, State, and things related (to an extent)

Hey! Hey! You! You! I don't like your girlfriend. (To quote Avril Lavigne, I'm not sure how to spell her name)
Now that i've got your attention, first and foremost, I hope that everyone had an absolutely amazing break. I'll tell ya, mine was very good; however, it will be ending in just a few short hours.
Over break, I did a few theatre related things, maybe more than a few, maybe not, but I'll sum it up for you. I listened to the soundtrack for Love Never Dies (the sequel to Phantom of the Opera)... and it's, ummmmm, well, it has many ups and downs, mostly downs. I'm a huge Phantom fan, so this means a lot coming from me, but I would still pay lots of money to see the sequel (even if Meg does end up shooting Christine and leaving the Phantom to take care of his and Christine's love child from 10 years ago...) I got a guitar for Christmas, which isn't actually theatre related, but I can learn fun music to play, and music is sometimes in theatre, like musical theatre for instance.
Moving on......
Wintertime is going well. I'm on the tech side and understudying for this show and spent hours today sorting gels in the tech booth or "cove" upstairs. We cleaned so much today! So please, try to keep it clean, otherwise one of you will undoubtedly be cleaning it up later at some point in your lives. The show is going well, the cast is incredibly talented, and the black box (Joe) looks like a beautiful forest. Please come see the show, tickets can be purchased at the box office or online. We have only 9 short rehearsals left, eek!
Who had a fun time at state? Didn't it just ziiiipppppp by? I know it did for me, between auditions, SSO's, and IE's I basically just wanted to fall into a deep sleep for the rest of eternity. Seriously though, if you want to apply for SSO, check out my blog about it. We have many spots opening up this year and it's a great way to reach out into your theatre community. That said, be prepared to work your butt off at state if you get it. You will be on your feet and running around for three days, but also able to learn and see a lot of behind the scene stuff that you may not otherwise expierence. It's a great way to meet new people and gives you the opportunity to talk to tons of schools and your state about the arts and why they are so important in our lives. I highly reccomend applying! (*Note*: you will have to chaperon the dance and yes, you will have to pull grinding people off of each other.)
Well, I know this is short and not my best blog. Be sure to check in later for information about payments and stuff and if you have any questions you know how to reach me :)
