Hello, Samie here.

So the school is fast approaching, and I mean fast. Which means I have spent the majority of my free time lately pounding out all of my summer assignments. I really enjoyed A Sense of Direction and I am still enjoying Uta Hagen, I'm really enjoying writing for the senior project, and of course Hamlet! I wish I could discuss my AP calc homework with the same joy. Anyway...

So my summer, which flew by, was actually pretty low key compared to how I usually spend my summers. I was in a production of Carousel than ran into the first two weeks of July, and then I stepped into Grease at the last minute at school, and aside from nationals that was really the only time I spent onstage. Which was weird for me. But, I did do other stuff, I helped teach some kids classes at a summer camp type thing in Longmont and I went college shopping.

I visited the University of Oklahoma, which is now my top choice in schools. (My extended family was very excited when I told them this...except because of their football team.) I however, am very interested in their drama program, I talked to the director of their program at nationals and their program has everything I'm looking for. So this past week I flew out to check out the campus. Aside from the ridiculous heat, I really enjoyed it. The campus is beautiful! The library is absolutely amazing, the theaters are beautiful, the dorms are nice, the food options are great. And everyone there was so friendly. But, above all, there is some great shopping right by campus. (I'm just kidding of course, shopping isn't my deciding factor, but it is a bonus.) Oh and the OU Sooners are number one pre season for football. (Whatever that means.)

So there you go, I plan on auditioning for their BFA in Acting program in October and we'll take it from there. I'm also looking at Evansville (where I am already accepted thanks to nationals--which is awesome) and Southern Methodist University. College here I come!

But first...Senior Year here I come!
