Hey everyone, it's Tess Westenhaver here, your Vice President! I know this isn't what most of you want to hear, but school is coming up fast! (I hope you all have started your summer reading and other assignments) It's sad, I understand your pain. Summer is ending and you have to go back to the same old routine of getting up at 6am, pressing snooze, over sleeping, and running out the door to catch the bus. I'm not looking forward to it either. Usually I'm really excited about this stuff but, this year, I just don't feel it. If your feeling the same way, I have some tips and tricks to get pumped up for the next year. One, think about seeing all of your friends everyday and how much fun you had in the halls last year. Two, remember your favorite subject, whether it's history or science, and think about why you liked it so much. Hopefully by now your starting to feel it :). Finally, remember the best class of all, theatre. Remember why you are at DSA? I do, it's because you love theatre. So, remember all of the fun you had in it last year! If you are not kind of exited by now, I don't how to help you.
But on to other, slightly more interesting, matters. The new student potluck is today! I'm super excited to meet all of our upcoming stars and teach them the basics of surviving their piers. :) We have some really fun stuff planned for tonight so I hope to see all of your faces there! School starts on Friday the 19th (thursday for the new kids). Isn't that odd? School starting on a friday? I still don't understand why they did it. Oh well, at least it gives me more time to work on Uta Hagen.
In the beginning of summer, the thespians had a couple of meetings. During these, we explored what is coming up in the school year. We got to decide some pretty cool things and plan some fun events. Anyways, I realized that as Vice Pres. I have a ton of work to do. For example, some people in our thespians troupe are still not real thespians according to the national roster. Bigggg problem that i have to fix. Anyway, I just thought I would share that with you all.
Now, I'm going to tell you about my summer thus far. I'm just warning you, it's so exciting you might fall out of your chair... I'm definitely just kidding about that statement. Anyways, I started out my summer doing nothing. This entails sitting at home on the computer, reading, and working out every couple days. After about two weeks of that, I started babysitting two adorable boys in Stapleton. We went to pool, played frisbee, and made brownies. Fun right? During this time, I started memorizing Hamlet lines. It's kind of strange, I work better when my days are full of activities instead of empty. A little bit later, I stated house sitting a gorgeous house in Park Hill. I take care of three dogs and a cat, I also get to live there! Its awesome, I'm basically on my own for a week or two at a time. I love it! Here and there, I had one or two week openings with nothing in them. During these times I watched desperate housewives and became obsessed. And, with the exception of pool days with friends, that has basically been my summer. Super exciting right? Ha! I am actually excited because I am going on a road trip the week before school with my mother and best friend Janine. We will be traveling all around Colorado. Twill be fun. Ok, so I am running out of things to talk about, I guess I will end it here.
Goodbye my little friends! -Vice Prez Tezzzz.
