Hey everyone! So guess what's right around the corner?? STATE CONVENTION!! I have been freaking out trying to prepare with my two I.E.'s PLUS my All-State Show audition for The Foreigner. If you have an I.E. for state, make sure it is in good shape. YOU paid to enter it, so why not make it worth while. Also, the officers are workshopping your I.E.'s to give constructive feedback. Now this doesn't mean that you show us an I.E. that is partially memorized and not blocked. Get it as ready as possible, that way our feedback won't be the obvious, "memorize and block it..." Now finally entering the positive portion of this blog, well not really, I just had a 5 hour meeting with all the officers and we all agreed that the department/troupe has been growing apart and not as family-like as it should be :( I think everyone should try to reach out to kids, especially the younger kids, who look like they need a bud. I'm sure you all love having friends there to support you and laugh with you, but think about if you didn't have them around... So let's be the best we can and be friendly to everyone! Take initiative!! Oh and real quick, I told Ms. Hann I would quote her on this... "RRRAAAAAAAHH!!!!' Well I guess that concludes this blog. Ok.

Hey Thespians, The state rules are available for download on the home page of this very website. If you lost the ones you received, or you never got one in the first place: please print them off, have them signed and put them in the folder on Ms. Hann's door by no later than December 2nd. You can also turn them in at our mandatory all troupe meeting on November 30th. And for the groups of two: Unless every single thespian gets permission to be in groups of two at state, we will be in groups o... Continue reading...

Hey..... It's me....Maltz...I'm here to discuss with all you gorgeous people the Main Stage show auditions from the point of view of me.....it would only seem to make sense as I am the writer/author/producer/generator of this electronic blog/article/crappy piece of writing...So where do I begin....How about with Wintertime as it was the first one I auditioned for... I took a huge risk with this audition, because for my 1 minute comedic monologue, I actually did an original piece I wrote my Fres... Continue reading...

What is an SSO you may ask? Well, it stands for State Student Officer and essentially it's like being a thespian officer for the entire state of Colorado! Who's eligible? Any current 9-11 graders who are officially inducted as a thespian, that's who. How long are you on the board for? Until you graduate highschool, so once you're in, you're in. Well, enough of this nonsense, let me talk to you about what being an SSO is actually like. In fact, let me tell you my SSO story. For those of you ... Continue reading...

Hey all! How's everyone doing? As you all know, at least I would hope you know, that state is around the corner. It's less than a month away. You may be asking, "What does this mean Tess?" Well, young padawans, let me tell you. First, if you are doing an I.E. the mandatory lunch performance's for the officers are coming up (a list of orders will be posted this week). So be prepared! If your not, we can/will withdraw your I.E. from state. Secondly, your pink forms permitting you to walk in gro... Continue reading...

Hello all, Outreach Jake here. As you probably know, we hosted Thespian Cabaret last Wednesday night. It was, as usual, successful, but it could be even more so. If you didn't sign up or didn't know what to do for Cabaret, audition for the next one. JUST DO IT (like Nike). Do a scene, write a song, whatever floats your boat! As someone who always brushed off Cabaret, I can personally say that it is not a big deal, and is just plain fun. Congratulations to all who did perform. It was a very v... Continue reading...

Hi guys! Nicki Seefs, here. Couple of updates. You may notice that the officers have cartons with them decorated with the logo of the organization BROADWAY CARES / EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS. This year DSA wants to make a greater contribution to the organization than they have before through Colorado Thespians. If you could donate your spare change you would help our fundraiser tremendously! Need some ideas on how to help? Hereeee ya go: Get a size smaller at Starbucks and donate the difference Em... Hello all! It's Everett. Well I am super excited for state convention, and it's coming up FAST! If you're going to state for your first time this year, then get pumped. I always have a blast and learn so much. Not only are you meeting cool people from other schools that share the same interest in theatre, but you get to work with them in awesome workshops and such. There are also SO many individual performances (IE) to watch, which is always so interesting. It's also fun just to sort of b... Continue reading...
