Hello Thespians!
It’s your freshman rep Jimmy. So I hope you guys are all
enjoying your summer nights. So I’m currently packing and getting ready to go
to Nationals by packing, blogging and listening to my Summer Playlist and pretty
sure that Call Me Maybe is unexplainable…Why is it so catchy? But whatever its about enjoying summer right? Hope all is well with you all. Anyway, So my post today will be about my change from Junior
Thespian Troupe to High School Thespian Troupe. Well its already very different
as JRT member you learn the basic of being a thespian but you don’t really get
the Thespis feeling and honor until you are a freshman. You really become like awesome;
you start to have classy conversations with other students about unknown
musicals and what is there favorite part of Wicked.
Haha you might also become a throat coat
addict I could drink that 24/7 (but I don’t). I think that JRT is a learning
lesson its when you emotionally have to drag yourself and perform your IE, even
if you are so sick that the whole song you could barely hit any of the notes
and all you can do is keep going and performing. I learned that I have more
confidence performing Main Stage during state then when I am in the IE room
standing on that tiny carpeted stage looking at every face in that room. Plus
as JRT State is about watching IE’s and cheering on your school and other
talented Thespians and eating dinner at The Corner Office then watching someone
from your school perform Mainstage, well that was my experience and loved and appreciated
every moment. Now that I’m in High School I can start taking workshops that I
have wanted to take for the past three years but I couldn’t take because I wasn’t
a high school Thespian. The only big difference from JRT and HS Thespians is
that you feel official and like you are one of those lucky actors (because you
are). Well that’s it for now, have a great summer!

Bonjour, hallå, ciao, hola, привет, and hello! I am your new In-Reach Officer this year and I am in charge of bringing kids from majors other than theatre into the troupe, plus hopefully helping with lots of other mind-boggling, jaw-dropping, absolutely inspiring and marvelous stuff! ...Or maybe I should just mostly stick to the in-reach part. Anyway, last year was both my first year at DSA as well as my very first year at public school in general, and I am going to talk about my feel... Continue reading...

Hey
All! This is Annie Perales your new Publicist for this year’s school year. I’m
here to fill you in on all events happening throughout the year.
It’s
only been about a month of summer and already so much has happened. After we were
let out of school I immediately hopped on a 13-hour flight to visit my mother
in New Zealand. She works there for a few weeks out of the year to oversee the
creative execution of the marketing photography and promotional... Continue reading...

Hey everybody! Nicki Seefried here, your new VP. I am just doin' a pre-nationals post to see how everyone is doing, and tell you a little bit about my summer! A week after we get home from nationals, I head out to the Big Apple to do an Experimental Theatre Intensive program and Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. When I first looked into doing a summer session there, I called my brother Will who did one of the programs and he couldn't speak highly enough of the experience. I'm not sure exactly w... Hey there thespians! I hope you all are having a wonderful spring break. The juniors just spent the majority of theirs in the big apple seeing shows and visiting colleges and chatting with working artists and students! One of my favorites that we saw was a play called 4000 Miles, starring DSA alum Gabe Ebert. This show is still in previews, and is not necessarily one of the over-advertised pieces, but still was amazing. This show will be considered a broadway production (I believeeee...) but a... Greetings! This is your friendly neighborhood Outreach Officer, Jake. Just blogging to let you all know about our events this spring. Shakespeare is in the air, and the Juniors have started Too Much Light!!! WOO that'll be exciting and I can't even phrase my own excitement. Anyway, our Miscast/Original Work Crabaret was a great hit, and we poured copious amounts of goo on Landon Du and Jimmy Bru(enger). We have a lot more events coming your way this spring, like Thespian Laser Tag Part 2, and... Continue reading...
