Hey there thespians!
I hope you all are having a wonderful spring break. The juniors just spent the majority of theirs in the big apple seeing shows and visiting colleges and chatting with working artists and students! One of my favorites that we saw was a play called 4000 Miles, starring DSA alum Gabe Ebert. This show is still in previews, and is not necessarily one of the over-advertised pieces, but still was amazing. This show will be considered a broadway production (I believeeee...) but as of now is not widely known. I also talked with my brother who told me about lots of shows going on in NYC that I had never heard of. This being said, I encourage everyone to make the effort to go see less mainstream theatre...I don't mean this in  a hipstery sense, but simply in that regional and less popular theatre often have really great things to offer an audience. Those are my words of wisdom for the day!
In other news, be sure to catch DSA theatre department's Laughing Stock coming up in about a week! The weekend of laughter, a series of comedy events to take place after each performance, is an exciting new idea that Mr. Becker has taken on and I encourage everyone to participate! He will have a profession stand up comic, an improv contest, and a not so silent auction! be there or be square
