Hi everybody, this is Anna here...

I would just like to put a few words out there about the fall schedule for events put on by majors other than theatre; and by fall, I mean September through November.

Firstly, 42nd Street opens in TWO WEEKS!! (September 13-15 & 20-22) I know many of you already are planning on seeing it, but for those of you who aren't planning on going because it's not required, please go see it! It is the one opportunity a year where you can support students from every major in just one event. Tickets are already on sale; you can buy them on the website. It will be amazing!

Next, I want to highlight the Orchestra Fall Concert. It is on October 11th at 7:00 p.m.

The Guitar concert is on the 15th of October at 7:00 p.m.

Then, the Vocal Fall Concert is from the 16th-17th... this will be great!

The Band Jazz Symposium is from the 18-19 of October.

The Visual Arts 1st quarter art show is on October 18th as well.

Another big event is Navigating Stars, the Dance concert, showing from the 19th - 20th... Last year we only had one dance major thespian; by attending their show advertising the thespians, we can show them that we are interested in all sorts of performing arts, and not just theatre.

And, the final event for October... the Video Cinema Arts Movie Night is on Halloween... October 31st at 7:00 p.m.

And now for November. The middle school Piano recital is November 5th, at 7:00 p.n. as well.

Then, the fall Dance Concert, Home, is opening November 15th and running through the 17th... Again, go see it! These are amazing!

The band fall showcase is November 15th as well.

Then, the Creative Writing high school open mic night is the 16th, at 7:00 p.m.

Lastly, the Video Cinema Arts fall student film festival is on November 30th... It would be really fun to support to support this!

I feel strongly that a weakness as both a troupe and a major (theatre) is not attending events put on by all the majors. We all go to an arts school, and one of the benefits of this is that we have so many opportunities to see Denver's most talented kids perform or showcase their art. We are so lucky to have these events available to us, but most of us, and I am guilty of this as well, rarely go see many performances from outside our major. I would like to emphasize that by attending events from all majors as a troupe, we build community inside the school and send the message that all areas of art are important to us, and that kids from any major that enjoy theatre are welcome to be a part of this wonderful group. I know that all this information is overwhelming, but please try to attend at least two events outside of your major this fall; you'll be surprised at how much fun it is!
